I have been accepted to both UC Davis and SF state University. My problem is: I have received a D in AP Calculus last semester. Although that is my fourth year of my math, I still have a chance of getting revoked from UC Davis because they have a "no D or F" policy. I'm not sure if that also applies to classes that are not taken to fulfill the A-G requirments, so anyone knows, please tell me?

Anyways, in my current circumstances, I can't think of anything but accepting both college acceptance offers. If I don't accept the UC Davis offer soon, I would not be given a decent dorm. But if I accept UC Davis, I also have to accept SF State University because UC Davis might revoke me and I would have to go to city college if I don't also accept SF State University. What should i do? Will the colleges find out?

bump bump please help me?

You need to contact Davis and tell them about the grade. Do it as soon as possible so you get their answer before the commitment deadline. Send an email now.

Thank you! Should I add that I’m sorry for breaking the terms of the conditions, or is that unnecessary?

sorry that’s such a stupid question >.<

No, it isn’t a stupid question :)

They likely know that you are sorry/worried/stressed. That is another reason to get their answer as soon as possible - whether the news is good or bad, you can stop worrying about it and move forward with your next step. (You have probably been worrying for a couple of months now - you need a chance to relax.)

Rather than piling on the apologies, be breif and to-the-point, and then earnest in your desire to remedy the situation: present ideas of your own (community college course over the summer, tutor to finish Spring semester with a “C” or better, etc…) and then ask if they have any requirements or remedies you can attempt.

Good luck :)

THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!! :D

Has this happened to any of your children, or do you know of anyone with a smilar case as mine? I just sent UC Davis an explanation of my poor grade in calculus, and after i clicked submit, it said that i would have to send them my official transcripts by July, and my official college transcripts (the one where i redo the class in a community college) by september 1st. That means I would not know if they have revoked my admission until mid- september… should I still accept SFSU’s offer of admission. I’m really so lost right now… >.<

Do you know if they will send me a respond before July, telling if my methods of remedies are okay with them? Sorry for all these questions that i know only the admission officers have answers to…

Thanks so much alamemom (you’re not lame at all:D). Because of your help, I was able to convince UC Davis to give me another shot.

Congrats! Great news :)

Awesome! So, goodbye SFSU?

Hopefully. I have accepted my SIR for Davis and not yet so for SFSU. UC Davis said I must get C’s in all my classes, or my admission would surely be rescinded. AP Calculus and Ap literature are giving me a hard time… :(

i thought uc only looks at a-g requirements. If the class isnt an a-g requirement aren’t you fine? Ask your teacher what you can do to make up the grade. last year I made up my sem 1 grade several months after the end of the semester. Try to reason with them you will be suprised on how much they will be willing to do.
