Can I appeal a rejection letter from Umass Amherst

Umass amherst is the only college I want to go to, Its my dream school. I want to know if I could appeal the rejection letter. Their are many kids in my school with lower grades who got into Amherst. Could I appeal? Has anybody here appealed to amherst and got in?

Why ask here? Just do it! Explain why you want to go there, what you plan on majoring in, what you hope to do while you are there, and send it ASAP. Can you get a list of your grades up to now, for this year, if it will help your cause?

The UMass admissions website says a deny decision is final. Seems pretty clear. You should call the admissions office to see what options you have. If they are firm in their denial, your best bet may be to go to another college and kick tail (classes and retake SATs), then apply as a transfer to UMass Amherst.

It doesn’t hurt to ask them what caused you to be rejected. Then you’ll know what you need to do about it to transfer. The worst they can do is decline to give you a reason. Good luck!

No harm trying cause I am also appealing. I got received their mail on 3 May and I got rejected. Btw do u know where I send my appeal letter? to the dean?

Go to another school, do well, then apply to transfer if you still really want to go to UMass. Keep in mind, if you got rejected, UMass may not be the right place for you. Hope you find a good fit.
