Can I appeal for $$?

Wow, they matched Cornell's offer for me last year...

You have to pull some strings but it is possible to get offers matched - but in the cases I've heard of it working, the situations were:
a)packages were from other top tier schools - ivies mostly (princeton, yale, etc)
b)students with hooks (urm, athlete)
c)a financial aid DIRECTOR (not representative) approved the change.

Haha, I did some grunt work when I was on campus a few weeks ago, because I too got no aid. Which sucks.

padfoot, most recruited athletes at Duke get FULL rides, so I highly doubt that will be an issue....there's a girl from my school playing volleyball for them who is getting a full ride.

Hmm...I know someone recruited for swimming that is paying list price, but maybe that's because a full ride isn't even an enticing offer (his parents have a few million in the bank).

yeah, I didn't try zealously to get my aid upped since I knew I probably wasn't going to Duke unless I got the full-ride scholarship, but I was still surprised by how abruptly they shot down my request.
