Can I apply for a scholarship twice? Since I am a Junior in HS.

Can I apply for a scholarship twice? I am a junior in HS currently and since scholarships have deadlines for that year I was wondering if I could apply for the same scholarship the next year. Like the deadline for a couple scholarships is December 31st 2010, and for the next year they will most likely be December 31st 2011. Does anyone know if I can apply both years for the same scholarship? Or is it only once application ever per person? I'm surprised this is not an at least somewhat common question...

Thanks in advance!

Are you talking about a private scholarship? If so, most likely it is for high school SENIORS who will be going to college next year. You apply once. You would not be able to receive the award for next year anyway…you will not be in college.

No, I’m on applying to scholarships that say “for highschool juniors and seniors” or “for grades 9-12” or something along those lines that ensures that I am eligible for the scholarship even though I’m only a junior. I’m worrying about this because I think my senior year my writing skills will be a little sharper and I don’t want to have like no scholarships to apply for during senior year.

Generally, you can apply every year that you qualify. If there is a restriction then it should be stated in the scholarship eligibility guidelines.

I see, well thank you very much!
