Can I ask for a reccomendation from a teacher that was fired 2 years ago?

Well I think there is a teacher that would write a great letter but the problem is that she isn't at the school anymore because she was fired the year after I had her as a teacher. I would really like to ask her, but I'm not sure how. Would the school still have contact with her or should I try her old email?

Awkward! I’ve never heard of anyone doing this.
If I were you I wouldn’t even think of doing this.
Your LORs should be from your Junior Year teachers, not frosh or soph teachers and certainly not fired teachers.

Was she let go because of budget cuts, or because of inappropriate behavior? Teachers do change schools all the time, and lots of students have good reasons for getting recommendations from them. If you can contact this teacher, go ahead and ask her if she’s willing to write the letter for you.
