Can I assume that I got no finaid?

Got my acceptance letter today...but no word at all about financial aid. We're planning on contacting the admissions office on Monday, but should we not get our hopes up?

It depends, what is your income?

Abt 170k…aka enough that we don’t get what we need, but not enough to pay 55k/yr comfortably >.<

Yea, I don’t think you will get aid. Do you have any schools that will give you merit scholarships?

Another reason could be that you sent in your financial aid stuff too late for them to include in with your letter.

Yes, I did apply to schools that give merit aid, and I have gotten merit aid to said schools, but none of them have been the top top schools that I’ve gotten into (vandy, rice, UNC, etc.) >.<

Everything was in by March 1st…

^^^ Look at your packet again. We got our acceptance today too, but the notice of NO financial aid was in the third page … Basically said that they are unable to offer us any FA, but we could still look at the Stafford loans.

I too didn’t get anything in my packet. I am low income…[my FAFSA income was a negative number…]

If you have no notification of financial aid, there could be several reasons. Some documents may be missing, or the award letter may not have made its way into your acceptance packet. Call the school’s financial aid office on Monday … or email them. They are very responsive.

Futurepresident, if your AGI is negative, that means your parents have tax write offs - probably from a business or S corporation. Vandy uses Profile to award institutional aid, so your EFC for Vandy’s own purposes may be higher than the FAFSA EFC used to compute your federal aid. You should still have some type of notification of financial aid awards (or something stating you can apply for Stafford loans), though.

Discovered that they just want “Proof of Citizenship.” Emailed them my certificate of citizenship, so should be hearing soon. Thank you all!

Futurepresident, just call or email. Best of luck!
