Can I attend an orientation for a different college?

I’m an incoming Freshman in which the orientation dates for my college (College of Biological Sciences) have all passed except for the last session on July 2-3. I couldn’t register for the earlier orientations because I applied for STEP in which I recently got denied. The problem is that I will not be able to attend the last College of BS orientation and I wanted to know whether I can attend an orientation for a different college? Will I be missing a lot of information about my college or will it be mostly the same information?

Check with orientation coordinators, but you are required to attend the orientation specific for your college. As an incoming Freshman, it is to your benefit to attend since you will be given a lot of important information including help to navigate the class registration system, advising on course selection etc…

Unable to Attend?
Students unable to attend First-Year Orientation need to log on to MyAdmissions, click on the Orientation “Sign-Up” link and complete the “Questionnaire” page. Under the question “Will you be attending Orientation?” select “No,” marking a reason why, and click the “Save and Continue” button at the bottom of the page. Students will be emailed detailed information on how to complete the activities covered during First-Year Orientation independently, such as taking placement exams, picking a class schedule, registering for classes, learning about campus resources, etc. This information, as well as any other important campus updates, will be sent to the student’s UC Davis email account, so the account should be checked often.

First-Year students who do not attend Orientation will have pass appointment (course registration) times in mid to late August.
