Can I be turned away if I don't do well on the accuplacer

Im taking an accuplacer test at Horry Georgetown Tech. While I was signing up for the test one of the women said they turn people away if their math scores are too low. The only thing is I’m applying for their cosmetology program and will not be taking any core classes. Does this make a difference in how I score? Will I really be turned away if I don’t do well ? (I’m taking the accuplacer because it’s another option instead of an ACT or SAT ,which I neglected to take.)

Contact the school directly and ask. If there is a minimum required score, ask what level math it covers, if you can see a practice test, and how they recommend you prepare for the exam.

You need to ask what remedial math classes they offer if your scores are too low. Chances are that they do have something like that. It might delay your enrollment for a semester, but you would be able to achieve your goal in the end.

Wishing you all the best!
