Can I change my major??

This is a general question that applies to all colleges, but I realized that I really do not want to major in what I put down as my major. Can I change it? When do I have to decide by? How does this process work? Basically...can anyone explain to me this whole majoring business?? Thanks!!

I'm interested in this too (:

so, being the genius that i am, i applied undeclared/ natural resources..
and i got into the school of natural resources.

can i transfer to L&S? is it easier to get into? or is natural resources easier?

You can change your major, but check the college you applied to and the college you wanted to transfer to for certain requirements. It is a long and tedious process, and most people don't get approved for the transfers (especially for transfers to College of Engineering). But you can always try.

Changing majors within a certain college is very easy, since almost all first years are undeclared. After you've finished at least half of your prereqs, then you can declare your major, which is why I'm an intended IB major because I'm not allowed to declare yet. Also like Leftist said transferring between L&S and CNR is easily done. My friend transferred from CNR to L&S and back to CNR within six months. Depending what you want to major in is what determines when you have to decide by. Especially for math/science majors, you should probably decide within your first year or else you won't get your prereqs done on time.

This may be odd...but can I go from a declared major to undeclared? Bioengineering really may not be my thing. :x I guess I could just switch to a different engineering major after a year or two, but if I could get into undeclared before anything even starts, that'd be nice.

...and chemical engineering is in a different college. Does that matter if I'm coming from CoE?

^
hmm.. do you mean by undeclared engineering? or undeclared L&S?
You're in CoE right now right?
