Hey everyone. So I'm taking Physics B and want to become an engineer, so Im also thinking of taking the Physics C Exam: Mechanics. But I guess for me to prepare for the test I should have some knowledge in Calculus. Does it take a long time to learn all the Calculus I need to know for the test? I'm taking Pre-Cal right now, but it looks like some of the things I need to know like Integrals aren't covered until the end of the year, possibly after May. Please reply if you've taken Physics C before. Thanks in advance.

Yes, that is definitely possible.

You should really know the calculus before you begin the physics stuff, though. You need a solid foundation in differential and integral calculus (but most of Mechanics is very simple calc, mainly dealing with polynomial functions).

Since you’re already in Physics B, and the majority of the material overlaps (minus the calculus applications, and with the exception of the rotational motion chapter), it is relatively easy to self-study. You really need to understand what’s going on though (both in physics and calculus), as memorizing equations and formulas isn’t going to help.
