can i double major in marshall and school of cinema-tv?

I believe that is certainly possible.

USC also has a joint program that you may want to look into that means students take classes in both Marshall and the School of Cinematic Arts. Ultimately you receive a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Cinematic Arts.

Have a look: [USC Marshall Degree Program Joint Programs](http://www.marshall.usc.edu/undergradprograms/degrees/joint-programs.htm)

OP- here is an old thread about the BCA joint program- post #15 includes a quote from a friend who was doing the program-
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/657819-business-double-major.html?highlight=cinematic+arts

That may be pretty tough, because I’m in the BCA program and as it is, I really don’t have much room for electives and I’m technically just a Business Major with an emphasis in Cinema - not a double major. I’m not 100 percent sure, of course, but the BCA program is pretty tight if you can get it and I would recommend it!

BCA is definitely the EASIEST way to get something like that in. And it is possible, but the two programs are 2 of the most structured programs at USC. My roommate was considering it, but it would have taken him 5 years, so I think he’s doing just Production and a minor in Business instead.

It depends on what you want to do. It’s impossible to do a double major in business and production in 4 years. It just doesn’t work out. Critical studies and business might work, but I don’t know how valuable the combination would be. The BCA program is great but it is a business degree with a film minor (except the classes you take from the film department are more geared to the business of film).

If you get into production, I wouldn’t trade it for a BCA degree if filmmaking is your ultimate goal, unless you are more interested in working at a studio or having an executive’s job (these jobs have very little to do with film making). If you get into production I would minor in business. The business minor has a great core, and covers a lot of what the BCA program covers on the business side and still lets you go through the production sequence. It’s a big minor though, so you have to look into it and see if it works for you.

Is it possible to major in BCA and minor in something like production or screenwriting, even if it takes five years?

BCA is SUPER quantitative, check out the course map ([USC Marshall Degree Program Joint Programs](http://www.marshall.usc.edu/undergradprograms/degrees/joint-programs.htm)) yourself. I don’t think you can minor in production, don’t quote me though, but I think you can actually be in BCA and have enough free credits to minor in screenwriting because it’s only a 16-credit minor.

Oh, okay thanks!
I asked about the minor in Cinematic Arts because I noticed that the gateway course requirements, CTCS 190 and 191, were both on the BCA course map.

I’m in BCA and I’m planning on doing a screenwriting minor. It helps if you have (or are) bringing in credits, otherwise, you won’t have time for any other classes besides your BCA ones, and your minor.
