Hello I am a high school junior and I am doing dual enrollment at my local community college. I heard from a senior friend of mine that when you apply to colleges you need two letters of recommendations. One from a STEM teacher and one from a humanities teacher. I have a problem though. The only classes that I am taking at my normal high school is AP Calculus and AP Environmental Science! I am taking all of my humanities classes at my local community college like English and history. So I was wondering, can I ask my English professor for a letter of recommendation for when I am in 12th grade? Currently I am taking College Composition and I am doing pretty well in this class and I could get along with my professor (it’s only been one month since I started). And then next semester I have to take another English class that is required to fulfill my general education requirements for the 4-year University I want to go to. So if I take that second semester English class with the same professor and get to know him well can I just ask him for a recommendation letter? If I can’t than that means I will have to take Spanish 3 at my high school next semester because I will get the same teacher as I had in 9th and 10th grade. But Spanish 3 is so difficult and its a block class. I would rather not take that class and have more time to work at my part time job. And also I am not close at all with my 9th grade and 10th grade teachers because of coronavirus so I have to do it this year. Please help mee
If you need some information, I live in Minnesota and I want to go to the University of Minnesota.
