I am currently on an academic suspension at my university and this is my first year of college, I want to transfer to Kent State University but my GPA is not a 2.0, i was asked to submit a high school transcript along with my act, which was a 20 and my GPA then was around a 2.89 or just under a 3.0. They state they will put a transfer on probation. I know I can do better, I am coming from a private university. I was accepted into kent as an incoming freshman but i decided to go to my current school. What are my chances of getting into kent?

Why waste time with strangers’ guesses? The best ones to answer that will be admissions officers at Kent. You know you have an uphill climb given your current suspension and your previous performance.

Your immediate goal is to convince them of your maturity and seriousness as a student. That starts with self-assessment. What did or didn’t you do to cause your current suspension? How will you change that? Have people be blunt with you and listen. Otherwise, Kent won’t take you seriously. Why should it?

Good luck to you on Kent admission and future academic turnaround.
