Can I get financial aid with these stats?

I’m a Brazilian student applying for 10th grade with financial aid next year (2018)
Grades:
A’s in English, History, Geography, Theology and Physical Education.
B’s in Maths, Portuguese, Arts, Philosophy, and Biology.
One C in Spanish =(
Extracurricular activities:
Student Council (2 years)
Founder and President of the Debate Union (2 years, school’s first student organization/club)
Swimming (7 years, minor awards)
Founded a non-profit that linked schools to nearby nursing homes, orphanages, and hospitals. Four private schools, including my own, have joined.
Leadership formation programme (2 years)
English as a second language programmes in the United Kingdom (in 2015 for two weeks and in 2017 for a month)
Various school awards such as Best Student Award, Reading Award, Science Fair, Solidarity Award, etc.
I haven’t taken the SSAT yet and have already started prepping to take in November of 2017. I hope to increase my grades next year.
I am applying to Deerfield, Peddie, St Andrews Delaware, The Hill, Kent and Westtown.
Can I be accepted and can I get financial aid with my current stats?
Thanks

You have incredible stats! I wouldn’t be surprised if you were awarded FA.

Needing fa for any applicant is a drawback, definitely for internationals. Also your grades Arent on par with most of the applicants who grades are typically straight a’s.Also do you take any ap classes? If not that lowers your chances, definitely since your in highschool.Unweighted your GPA is 3.5 whilst alot of applicants Unweighted gpa’s are 4.0 meaning an A average.Overall if you improved your grades to straight a’s then you’ll have a greater chance of getting in.Currently my opinion is you have a fine chance of getting in though with increased grades a good chance.Your extracurriculars are good though and impressive.Good luck on applying!

Trying to be helpful here, so don’t take the criticism personally, but nobody, and that includes the adults, should comment on an international student’s grades if s/he is not familiar with grading in that country. The rampant grade inflation (and extra credit and retakes on tests, etc.) that is prevalent in many U.S. middle schools (and beyond) does not exist outside the U.S.

Along the same lines, if the original poster’s grades are using a 0-10 or 0-100 grading system, do not convert to the American alpha system. Admissions officers will understand foreign grading systems.

Having said all that, being an international is a drawback in the admissions process, more so if FA is needed.

You have some really great EC’s, but your grades are a bit lagging. If you get all A’s next year, you should be in much better shape. I would say that if you get a high SSAT score and keep your EC’s going, you have a shot at getting FA at at least one of these schools.

sigh

Poor @skieurope, we feel your pain.

@skieurope @BigBlueSwim ah I’m sorry I didnt even see what you wrote! Guess I’m having a slow day… I didn’t even consider the different grading systems of different countries. @loklfdsafsdgas Ignore what is said about the grades :))

I heard somewhere that St Andrews DE was need-blind, or close to need-blind… does anyone know if this is true? If so, you seem in good shape if you’re accepted there.
