Just joined CC, so this is my first post.
I am a sophomore at a competitive high school in Michigan. I completely messed up my freshman and sophomore years (3.1 GPA taking hard classes), but I am good at taking standardized tests so I think I can get 31-33 on the ACT and 2100+ on the SAT. My school doesn't rank. I am hoping I can pull my GPA up to around 3.3 by the end of Junior year. I also have done theater, fencing, music programs, and I am planning on volunteering over the summer. Do I have a chance at University of Michigan, UT Austin, or Wisconsin-Madison? If not, any suggestions for schools?

UT, probably. Michigan and Wisconsin, maybe?

Also im a legacy through my parents to Michigan State, University of Michigan, Baylor, and Wayne State. White male if that makes a difference.

From out of state? No.

I disagree again. Ninety-three percent of incoming freshmen at Michigan have GPA > 3.5; almost 70% have GPA > 3.75. Unless you forgot to mention being 6’10" with a great jump hook, I don’t think you’ll get in with a 3.3. At Wisconsin, only 82% of freshmen have GPA >3.5, but, again, you’re from out of state.

You probably have a better shot at Michigan State.

Thanks for the replies. Bump bump.

anyone else?
