I know that the University of Chicago is really hard to get into. Here are my scores/grades:

SAT: 2200 (Math-760, Critical Reading-650, Writing-790)

Grades: this year 2 As, 1 A-, 2 B+s, 1 B. (Hopefully I can do some convincing and have my teachers boost the B and maybe B+s)

Freshman year i got mostly As and a-s, maybe one b+.

SAT 2s: Still have to take. How necessary is it to get above a 700 though in all categories to get into great schools?

ECs:
Debate Team founder (junior year) and president
Newspaper staff writer and editor next year
2 year model congress member, president next year
field hockey four years
track 2 years
study abroad for a semester of sophomore year
published in two local newspapers
i tutor kids once a week in philadelphia
i work with an autistic boy to help build social skills (paying job)
i will have a job for the whole summer (nothing special, working at camp)

Awards:
Bryn Mawr Book Award (highly selective, teachers discuss and choose from 300 kids in my grade)
National Honor Society
National Merit Scholarship potential qualifier (1st round so far)
bronze medal in 2010 national spanish exam

I go to public school. I'm sure I will get good recommendations.

Which schools DON'T take the highest section from each SAT? I know UMichigan only takes the composite score from one sitting, rather than taking your best section from each test.

Other schools I'm interested in: Northwestern University, Brandeis University, Tufts University, NYU, Columbia (I know, a reach), Williams College, Wesleyan University, Middlebury
