Can I get into a good school with my credentials?

Hi, I'm currently a junior in high school.

My freshman year schedule was:

Earth and Space Science GT - B
Geometry GT - A
US History Honors - B
Concert Choir - A
Health/Physical Education - A
English 9 Honors - A
Spanish 2 Honors - A

Overall GPA: 3.71
Weighted GPA: 4.21

My sophomore year schedule was:

Algebra II GT - A
Foundations of Technology - A
Independent Research GT - A
Biology GT - A
American Government Honors - B
English 10 GT - A
Spanish 3 Honors - A

Overall GPA: 3.89
Weight GPA: 4.57

My current (junior year) schedule is (with my anticipated grades):

Psychology AP - A
Spanish 4 Honors - A
Career Research and Development I - A
Chemistry GT - A or B
Precalculus GT - A or B
Modern World History Honors - A
English 11 AP - A or B

I'm working hard to get at maximum two B's.

Out of school, I am involved in high school volleyball, club volleyball, Red Cross Club, Key Club, Asian Student Union, National Honors Society, Spanish National Honors Society, Student Government Association class board, and lots of community service, including a week long mission trip over the summer for a blitz build.

I recently took a practice SAT about two weeks ago with only slight preparation.

My scores were:
Math 590
Critical Reading 640
Writing 700

resulting in a total of 1930.

My goal is to raise my score to at least a 2200 by January 25th when I take my first authentic SAT.

With these credentials do you think I could get into University of Chicago, University of Michigan, or University of North Carolina Chapel Hill?

I think you have a good shot at U of M. You have a solid GPA and plenty of ECs, you just need to make sure that you actually show commitment to one specific area and get some leadership and awards there. Also, try to get your SAT up in the 2200+ range, and I think you’ll be fine. For U of Chicago, however, your GPA and scores might hold you back, since the school is extremely competitive and will get plenty of applicants with 4.0 and 2300+. So it’ll be a reach for you, but definitely possible.

What are you posting this in the SAT section? Pay attention.

You are off to a good start! Keep practicing those SATs. You will get into many good schools.

Quick question, what is GT?
