Hi guys, I am wondering if someone can let me know where I stand for transferring to any of the University of California campuses? I have just finished my freshmen year of college and have a 2.73 GPA with 30 units completed. I have completed the seven course pattern that is part of the minimum UC transfer requirements for admission. I am planning on taking three classes this summer (two history, one music) for a total of 9 units. Hopefully, by the time I start my fall semester, I will have at least a 3.0 GPA. Also, I am currently volunteering at a mental health clinic and am in the psychology club at my community college. Please, can anyone let me know how I stack up to the competition for Fall 2013 admission?

UC MERCED, UCSC, and, UCR

pretty much what ramfam said… if you could get your gpa to a 3.0 you can tag to either of the 3… UCR UCSC OR MERCED… but without tag your gpa is not competitive at all

Is there a chance that I can tag to UCSB if I do well in the fall? that is really where I want to go the most.

If you can bump to a 3.2. Try taking an easy 5 unit class thats transferable. It helped me boost my gpa. I took a Spanish course.

They will include your Fall grades for GPA calculation as well. If you can brig your GPA to a 3.2+ like Ramfan661 said, you would have a pretty good shot.

If this gives you an idea, I got into UCD and UCR but rejected from UCSB and UCLA as a psych major with a 2.9 gpa with fall grades and a 3.0 by the end of spring.

Yeah my g is in the situation as you with a 2.8ish gpa and trying to TAG to UCSB as a psych major. You should consider UCSC(3.0 for TAG), and go on a campus tour. My G is now also considering UCSC and also boosting her gpa.
