Can I get into Harvard? Or other Ivys?

I'm an international high school sophomore. I've got all A's as a freshman, been school prefect, class president, won debates, won international, national and vernacular writing contests, won every MUN I've participated in, quizes. I'm the school topper in Olympiads and I'm involved in social service. I have a National Award and play chess as a hobby (not professionally, self taught). Won state awards for drawing and painting. My GPA is 4.0 (or CGPA -10) ie around 95-99%. Can speak two languages (vernacular) excluding English fluently. I'm from India and my school doesn't have Advance Placement classes or any such facilities for college admissions. I gave a mock SAT and got 1618 without any preparation or extra effort. We do not have ACTs in India. I think I can get 2200+ in SAT if I study for it. Can anyone please tell me if I can get into Harvard or any other Ivy with the above record. (Consider a SAT score of 1800+ at the moment). Please do answer.

Recently, I’ve been short listed for an international poetry fellowship.

Don’t put predicted scores. What exactly do you have right now?

That’s about 500 points short of the typical Harvard admit.

This is fake. No SAT score is 1618.

@billcsho Yeah, that’s what I thought too. And besides, a 600 pt increase is nothing short of miraculous and would probably investigated by the college board.

Why do you guys think 1618 / 2400 is fake?

I will answer this question when there are 30 days in February.

Because 10 times 2 will never be 19, 21, or 22.

If it is a “mock SAT” then the results may not be mailed in to the College Board. My kids have sat one of these for practice, and it was not mailed in. However, I too don’t understand a 1618 score.

Perhaps your mock score was not an accurate depiction of scoring or the test itself? As others have mentioned the SAT always scores in multiples of 10. In addition, schools like Harvard have students with 2250+ scores for the purposes of admissions. You’ve just finished freshman year, so it’s still early, but that’s the type of competition you will be facing if you will be applying to these schools.

This was the first time I gave the SAT and we don’t have SAT prep books in my locality so I didn’t know what I was supposed to do. So I just gave the exam without any idea. And they told me my result was 1618. Maybe the agency wasn’t right. Thanks for the helpful comments, but I was more interested in the opinion regarding the extra curricular activities. Are they upto the par?

My suggestion is to run away from that test agent. Obviously they have no idea what they are talking about either. Your EC is about average among students applying to these schools. However, chance for international students are often lower. Anyway, you don’t need to think about these schools until you can really bring up your SAT score to 2200+.
