Can i get into NYU CAS??

So NYU is my top choice. I’m applying EDII because I want to get my test scores up. I’m taking the Dec 3rd SAT and the Dec 10 ACT in hopes of improving my scores. Right now my stats are:

GPA: 3.54
SAT: 1240
ACT: 29
Extracurriculars:

  • 4 year Varsity athlete in indoor and outdoor track. -President of French Honor Society -Co-leader of the Black Awareness Club -In the Global Scholars Program for Aesthetics and Culture -Photography classes at local community college -On the planning committee for the Baltimore Student Diversity Leadership Conference

Taking 2 APs and two honors classes this year (My school doesn’t really make it possible to take a lot of APs and honors). I go to a private prep school. My gpa has been improving throughout the years if that does anything. I’m a girl and I identify as African-American. Planning on majoring in Journalism. Gallatin is my second choice.

I have a 4.0 and a 1260 and my guidance councilor went on a website and told me I have a 24% chance of getting in. That is just based on SAT and GPA. So, maybe you have a 10% chance. But, because you have some nice extracurriculars your chances could be raised slightly. You can search up NYU admission graph and see where you stand. Right now I would focus on studying for the SAT and ACT. You have one more day to study SAT and a week for ACT. So just study, study, study, and I wish you the best. You never know so you should apply.
