i work 250 volunteer hours and is12th grade now. i havent take SAT yet but will take it very soon(probably around 1300). my ACT score is 18 and i my gpa is 3.1 ,i have one AP class. So can i get into sjsu (san jose state university ) if i apply in November or October this year. BTW does SJSU look for senior year grade? whole semester or only first semester? i really wanna apple sjsu. i live in san francisco
SJSU uses eligibility index calculated by CSUGPA * 200 + ACT * 10 or CSUGPA * 800 + SATCR + SATM for frosh admission.
Past thresholds by major are listed at http://info.sjsu.edu/static/admission/impaction.html . Thresholds may change as application volume and strength change this year.
As you can see from that past threshold page, SJSU is all over the map. Note you’d qualify for many majors but, not all of them. Use the info to select a major you are likely to qualify for.
Sac and Sonoma may also work for you.
Good luck
You can, but since your not a local applicant your gpa needs to be higher than a 3.1. SJSU is all over the place with gpa thresholds. But the local and non-local thing is a big deal, as local applicants will get priority. The best thing you can do is find your major threshold and see if you qualify. Or you can go to a cc and strengthen your gpa, and then apply but it’s up to you.
