Hi, I’m a high schooler and was wondering if I had a chance at getting into Stanford. My highschool gpa isn’t stellar (3.9 unweighted) but my college gpa( I’m dual enrolling at my local 4year university) is fantastic (4.25). I’ve taken calculus 1-3, discrete structures, diff eq, linear algebra, analysis 1, modern algebra 1, physics: mechanics, physics: e&m, physics:optics/modern physics, and am currently enrolled in analysis 2, modern algebra 2, complex analysi, and the intermediate level of modern physics. Overall I’ve been able to get As and +As in those courses. I’ve only taken 2 AP classes at my high school, both English, and decided to forgo other AP classes. I got a 35 on the ACT. Unfortunately I haven’t partaken in any large math competitions. As a side note, the reason for my low high school gpa is a rather pernicious autoimmune disorder. With this information I hope you can give me an honest assessment of my chances. Thanks.
It seems like you are constructing a great resume and would be a competitive candidate. The challenge, of course, is that 44,000 other students think the same thing and less than 5% are admitted. So make sure you have other colleges on your short-list.
Good luck!
You definitely could. Only way to know for certain is to apply (and wait) and see!
