can i get into TCNJ?

I am fairly confident that i can get in to TCNJ. a friend of mine from the same high school just got in with much lower scores and GPA than me. I was really wondering if I had the potential for any scholarship money

SAT: 2050

W: 640
M: 760

ACT: 32

chemistry- 710
physics- 780

will have 7 AP exams by end of senior year (chem, bio, phys, us history, euro history, economics, english)

top 15%-20% of class (very competitive high school)

Depends what state you’re from

You have great qualities but bdmet is correct your state could matter- TCNJ only accepted about 100 out of staters

Haha is that true? I’m one of em! xD

Yep so says the New Jersey Star Ledger…there are approximately 1328 or so in the class of 2013 and only 101 were from out of state. Congrats bdmet :)

Let’s make sure we get the numbers straight. 101 decided to enroll. That is not the same as accepting 101 out of staters. Did the Star Ledger have the accepted number?

TCNJ is desperate for out of state students , especially if you are from outside the tri state area.
Out of state applicants will have an EASIER time getting accepted than NJ applicants.

Oops sorry I did mean enrolled the first time! Sorry for the confusion. I threw out the issue so I don’t know if it mentioned the number accepted but if anyone has that info please share :)

Thanks HazelEyes!

I realize that it is easier for OOS apps, but I’m sure I would’ve made it anyway. I was just interested to know the total # of OOS’ers there will be!

And in-state out-of-state matters in terms of scholarships in deehans case

You’re welcome bdmet! And yes you are correct about the scholarships.Another interesting bit of info…it seems that as some NJ colleges have increased the size of their freshmen class (Rutgers I believe is about 100 more than last year) TCNJ has maintained the same class size but has increased the average SAT scores.

Hey
“chance” me.
I have a 1380 out of 1600
Top quarter
Insane ECs. 20 hrs of dance a week, 3.6 gpa
10 honors/AP
international social work, political internships
in state.
I applied ED.
What do you think?

tolkiengirl92,

I think you have a very good chance at getting accepted even if you’re not top 15%. Good SAT and great ECs.

hey thanks! I’m just so nervous. I want this so badly, i’ve sent in supplementary information also. Ie- videos (Im a classical indian dancer) of my performances, and a portfolio of my dance work so far. Would that help or hurt my chances?
