Can I get into the top 50 schools?

I want to at least get into the top 50 national schools. I'm not expecting to get into ivies, but I really want to get into at least the top 50. I was thinking of Emory, John Hopkins, Brandeis, University of Rochester...etc.

SAT Scores:

720 Critical Reading
650 Math
710 Writing
=2080

Cumulative GPA: 3.6 unweighted

I'm taking my SAT Subject: Biology and US History, later, so I haven't gotten the scores, but I will be taking them.

Extracurriculars:

Helping Hands (Secretary) (2 years)
Student Council (Vice President of entire high school) (1 year)
Prom Committee (Head of Promotions) (2 years)
National Honor Society (1 year)
Math Honor Society (1 year)
Varsity Basketball (1 year)
Book Club (1 year)

3 AP Courses: AP Biology, AP Economics, AP US History

My school is a small, international private school so it doesn't have a lot of AP courses or extracurriculars but I've tried hard to take advantage of what I was given.

What do you think guys? Can I get into the top 50?

Why not take the SAT again and see if you can score 700+ on math?

What is your weighted GPA? 3.6 is good, but we don’t really know unless we get unweighted. Is it above 4?

Our school doesn’t have a weighted system. Even if you do take ap’s, they just count it on a 4.0 scale.

@tmsaurav: I am taking the SAT again in January, but I won’t know my scores until then. This is what I have so far.

upupppppppppppp

Your ECs are very light…as I read them I get the sense that you decided you should quickly join a few more things for college apps…do you have any more activities, maybe outside of school, that you have done more passionately or for much longer? Any real community service? A school doesn’t have to offer you a bunch of ECs- you have to go out and participate on your own. You still have pretty good stats for a lot of good schools- don’t fixate on “top” 50, write a great essay and find the right school for you. You didn’t mention what you wanted as far as major, size, location, etc…

I know maybe top 50 sounds kind of superficial, but that’s what my parents want, and they said if i don’t get in the top 50, that they will only pay half of my tuition. I’m just asking what is the possibility of me getting accepted to the top 50 schools… I can’t look for anything below because I need to get into the top 50 for my parents to pay for my tuition. (I know, i have quite strict parents…:/)

I didn’t realize how important my EC’s were until I was in 11th grade. I only have about 1 or 2 years of experience because of this…and I applied to NHS before, but they didn’t accept me before, but finally accepted me in senior year…

I don’t really care about the size, location…I didn’t mention my major because i’m still not sure what I’m going to pursue.

Well, if you look at the Top 50 universities and the Top 50 LACs, you have doubled your list right there. Seeing as your parents are insisting on this I assume they are prepared to pay close to full tuition because at the highest rated schools you will probably not receive a lot of merit money. Is this the case? Please review these lists, pick a few from each and take a look at last years admitted students profile or the common data set. This will give you an idea of where you stand. Good luck! Ask your parents to help you or at least guide you to a college counselor that can help make you a realistic list.
