Again, you seem like a fantastic student and person, but your chances of getting in are very slim. Being an F/A applicant coupled with applying as an international student and a low SSAT score, it will be hard to get in. This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t apply, but don’t expect that your chances of getting in are in any way certain.
@buuzn03 how were his/her’s essays and interviews?
@Caratastrophe thanks, mam/sir!
no matter what, I will continue my application!
And, Now, I have nothing without hope!
I love your positive attitude! I hope you get in!
@khanshaheb As far as interviews, I couldn’t tell you for certain, because obviously I wasn’t by there to listen in…but most went longer than the allotted time and we always got feedback. In addition, I think every interviewer commented on how mature DS was, and could not believe he had just turned 13. So, I’d say fairly well. His essays definitely showed his personality, and a few made me laugh out loud…so I don’t think they were mundane. But I’m his mom, so I am biased. I just want you to be prepared for the effect FA may have on M10 results.
@buuzn03 I’m really feeling sad for your child. Sorry, again mam
And I’m ready for the effect mam! and yes, All school’s results will come out on M10.
@TranquilMind thank madam/sir, for your support and blessing
@buuzn03 mam, didn’t they said anything about, why they waitlisted your, child?
I heard that, they say their comments about all applicants on their M10’s results!
@khanshaheb, what were your SSAT percentile scores on the individual sections (Quantitative/Math, Reading, and Verbal)?
@GoatMama sir/mam,
In quantitive, it’s 89%
in reading, it’s 47%
In Verbal, It’s 79%
Overall, it’s 77.3%
@khanshaheb please don’t feel sorry…he ended up in the perfect school for him with FA…it is more of a hidden gem, much less academically cutthroat but just as academically challenging…so he couldn’t be happier. Again, I think realism is a better perspective than idealism at times. So, again, wanted to prepare. You may be accepted into every school you applied to…but no one will know until M10. Good luck!!!
@buuzn03 no problem mam
And thank you so so much for your reply
@khanshaheb, the range of SSAT scores is 1500-2400. It is not plausible that a score of 1767 is in the 77th percentile. A few years ago, that score would have been below the 10th percentile (and percentiles have shifted by only 1% in four years). If you need help interpreting your scores, click here: https://ssat.org/scores/read-score-report/score-interpretation-resources
@GoatMama I calculated my score in this http://www.percentagecal.com/answer/1767-is-what-percent-of-2400.
and, Just saw my percentile, it’s 7, overall!
@GoatMama in Grade 8 Male’s result, it’s 8!
So your overall SSAT score is in the 8th percentile. That means that you scored better than 8% of all 8th grade boys who took the test (or worse than 92% of them). I agree with previous posters that you appear to be a sincere, genuine, kind, and polite person. Unfortunately, such a low score makes you inadmissible to the schools you’ve applied to. Of all your scores, Reading and Vocabulary are the lowest, which indicates limited English language proficiency. The TOEFL will likely confirm that. I understand that you attend an English Medium School in your country, but this doesn’t confer proficiency. You will really need to work on your language skills if you want to study in the U.S. I hope this helps! Best wishes!
@GoatMama thank mam/sir!
@GoatMama that means, I have no hope?
How did you do in Quant?
I would urge you to take the TOEFL…
@CaliMax I was expecting you, mam!
I got 721 in quantitive! and 89 %!
