The SSAT tells you the percentile you scored in, you donât calculate it. I donât believe that someone who scored in the 70s and 80s for quant and verbal, and a 49 in reading would receive an overall 8th percentile. However, even a 77th percentile (as stated earlier from the OP) would make a very very difficult journey ahead for an international full FA.
I donât think anyone can get into such a selective BS with an 8th percentile unless theyâre like the headmasterâs kid.
@babymalcolm Iâm also wondering how itâs 8? Iâm going to give this report to my mam!
And, thanks for your reply! what about you? how much you got?
I think that you calculated your Q/R/V percentiles like you calculated your total percentile. Go onto the SSAT website, and check the percentile on your score report. It should be displayed just like your overall percentile.
For me, all I can say was that it was adequate.
If PA accepts its score then take it, its the best chance you can get with ur SSAT
Just to give you a bigger picture, if youâre score is in the 8th percentile, you scored worse than 92% of people who took the test. The Phillips Exeter Academy average is the 95th percentile, which translates approximately to 2250 (as I assume since that was my percentile). I donât mean to sound condescending at all. You seem like a very genuine, kind and smart person, but that score will not cut it. Regardless, I wish you the best of luck through the admission process and beyond! Donât let rejection define how you see your life because you will continue to do great things regardless.
Hello there,
I am currently applying to the Phillips Exeter Academy, Choate Rosemary Hall, Phillips Andover, Deerfield Academy, Milton Academy, Middlesex Schoo (As An international applicant & I Need Full Financial Aid)
I am wondering, like many others, what are my chances.
I am applying to the 9th grade, and I live in Bangladesh( A country which located in Asia-Pacific).
I have very good grades, Got A+ in every single subject.(90+ In every single subject including English 1st,2nd, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Higher Math, General math).
In the final exam of GRADE-8, I obtained the rank: 1. Out of 496 students.
Not only now, I obtained the 1st rank continuously in 5 exams (In class â6,7,8"sâ final exam and half yearly exam!
But, Just became 2nd in one exam, because of my illness.
All of my teachers, Personal recommender, counselor, special interest recommender submitted excellent recommendations about me (they said me). Because, All of them loves me the most! I wrote my every single essay with passion. I described myself through these.
My ECAâs are:
*A few days ago I Got selected for "BMW Idea Innovation " competition. (The competition will be held in Germany in March).

As a soccer player, I won:
I just received my SSAT score! Itâs 1767!
Okay, I gave the SSAT test as an 8thâs grader! and in 8âth grade, 1997 is the average score!
(N.B: Phillips Exeter Academy gave me the fee for my SSAT exam. They said they liked me. Thatâs why I gave the SSAT without any cost! )
Phillips Academy waved both of âSSATâs Fee & Application feeâ after seeing my applicationâs 1st part. Every other school also, waved my âApplication Feeâ, after seeing my Applicationâs 1st part
My first choice is: âPhillips Exeter Academyâ. But, Iâm not neglecting others. If I get chance, I will be admitted to one of the other schools too.
Interview: Going to give Exeterâs Interview tomorrow. Hope, I will able to do well. I have scheduled other schoolâs interview
too.
So, what do you think my chances are to be accepted? I really need Full (100% scholarship).
Would you consider an all boys school? Or a less competitive school with rolling admissions? Or applying as a repeat 9th grader next year after working to improve your Verbal score?
Mam, is there any less competitive school or all boys school, which gives full financial aid to international students?
your SSAT score seems to be low, only 1767 ! I am afraid you will not get any offer from the schools you listed.
As I know, my friendâs daughter, she got 99 percentile overall, with full mark 800 in verbal section , total score of 2331, , also 99% in verbal, 94% in quantitative, and 99% in reading. she is apply for grade 9.
