Can I get into UF as a Spring 2012 Freshman?

I just graduated high school in June.
I didn't really plan for college well and ended up having the choice to either sign up for community college or just wait out a semester or a year before starting college so i can get a job and take care of some business (meaning myself lol) I was thinking about applying to UF as a Spring 2012 freshman with these credentials:

-african american
-4.2 GPA
-22 ACT (yes it's low, but I'm retaking it September 10 and studying to get a 25 or higher)
- loads of extracurriculars, editor on newspaper staff, law club for 3 years, in a legal academy for 1 year, met with the florida bar association, competed in a statewide mock trial competition in orlando, class council, volunteer for the obama campaign, some community service but not much, nhs, been working/keeping a job since the end of my junior year, color guard/ winterguard, dance...
- graduated 170 out of 545
- graduated with about 30 credits
- but my senior grades aren't good, i had a couple of D's (my first D's EVER) and 1 F in ap euro, but i didn't need the credit :/

So I have three questions:
1. Do you think I can apply for that term? The application for freshmen doesn't open until tomorrow (
2. Do you think I can get in with my credentials?
3. Or should I stay and go to community college and transfer with 20 hours by the end of the fall semester to other Florida universities?

please answer all, it would be greatly appreciated

Hi-
Not sure why you would list; “African American” as your first qualification factor, non-the-less, your GPA is excellent, but not sure how you accomplished this with several D’s and an F on your transcript unless this was your senior year grades and D’s & F’s on your senior year is also a death nail ! A 22 on your ACT may also be the death nail if you submit that grade and striving for a 25 ACT is not that much better. Try to achieve for the ACT AT LEAST a 28 and possibly higher. Try the upcoming SAT offered in two months.
If you just graduated in June 2011, not really sure why you would wait for August 1 to start applying for College now ???
Best piece of advise-----
SEEK GUIDANCE from your high school counselor as most freshman applications submitting their applications now is for the fall freshman class of 2012.
GOOD LUCK !

thanks for the reply. the reason why i’m just now trying to apply is that, long story short, i got caught up in a lot of family issues (divorce), and was only planning on going to schools in texas, which basically shut the nail in the coffin for me getting into any florida school in time. i didn’t realize this until last month  so that’s why. and yes, i’m retaking my ACT in just a little over a month. i figure i’d try to see if they still offer spring 2012 admission, if not i was just going to go to CC for a semester (or possibly a year) and just transfer out in the spring. but i just wanted to see if there was the option or at least a shot at UF. but i really appreciate the advice, i know it’s a hard school to get into, i’d thought i’d at least try :)

Call UF. See if you can apply for spring as a freshman. They generally do not accept applications for freshman for Spring. Those entering Spring 2012 as freshman went through the last admission cycle and were offered spring at that time.
