My name is Adriel and I’m from Brazil. I want to study Infromation Technology at the University of Arizona. I want to go there because it’s a good school, well recognized in the US and worldwide, and also I’m a huge fan of american college basketball, and my favorite are are the Arizona Wildcats! It’s my dream to go to college there!
So, I wonder if I could get acepted to UofA.
My high school overall grade is 7 on a 10 scale, this is the brazilian system, I don’t know how to convert to GPA scale, but it’s equivalent to a B-. My TOEFL score is 74. I don’t have many extracurriculars and honours achivements, I’m just an a “normal” student. I’ve been researching, and noticed that University of Arizona is kinda “random” in it’s admssions. There are excpetional students, but they also acept some “bad” students.
So, based on my grades, could I get into UofA? What are my real chances?

Average TOEFL score if 70 but it gets higher if you want to study Engineering, Law, Business or Nursing, you need better TOEFL, around 80
I want to study Infromation Systems.

Your chances are good. According to ISEP, 7 in Brazil = 3.3 in the US.
However you would have to pay full costs.
U of Arizona do offer merit scholarsbip but its just around 10k per year

And about the scholarships, I have my personal funds, me and my family were raising money to study in the US, and also I’m eligible for a student loan here in Brazil that will help me to cover the cost of education in a foreign country.
