I’m guessing they’ll be interested in you if you are conveying genuine interest in them by making some contact directly with an admissions rep. Whitman is guided more by their sense of you as a person and your commitment to what is distinctive for you about the school than by numbers alone.

Every college tries to look an applicant more as a person…but is whitman more focused to know an applicant’s personal aspects? I really do not know much…can you please tell me about this more, mmaah? and one more thing, is my ACT score going to hurt me? I am an international , though! What do you say kolijma?

To be honest lazyboy, I don’t have a clue how colleges change their approach to internationals. i would think that would make you more appealing. But in general, it is important (for Whitman) to show that you have a genuine interest in going there, and that it’s not just another school on your list. Your ACT really isn’t bad. You have SAT IIs that are outstanding to back it up. I know it’s competitive, but I really think your highly academic culture over there might be adding to your insecurity. You are a fantastic candidate. Your name doesn’t fit with all your accomplishments!

It is really hard for me to see the stats of the admitted students in different colleges…my score comes nowhere in front of theirs…thanks for your positive comments, though! kolijma, i am also applying to the 10 more colleges. Can you please tell me if I have a chance to get into any of them? and please, dont laugh at the list of my colleges!
-williams
-grinnell
-vassar
-oberlin
-gettysburg I*
-caltech
-duke
-rice
-dartmouth

i really need your honest comments (no matter how harsh they are!)…and, yes, my name is perfect…stats doesnt tell anything about the person in real life…hehe…by the way, where are you from kolijma?

whew! I’m just winging it here lazyboy so my opinion is worth just what you’re paying for it. here goes: I think you’re in at williams (maybe), grinnell, vassar (helps big time that you’re male here), oberlin, gettysburg (yes, safety) and whitman. Maybe not the other 4 - Caltech, Rice, Duke, Dartmouth. These 4 schools are really hard for everybody no matter how stellar they are, so it’s just more of a crapshoot. Glad I don’t have any money riding on this!
I’m from California.
