So I started my college year strong with a 3.6 ish (which is way better than my 2.5 from HS) and now I have a 2.7 … due to english, finals are coming up so I am not worried about that… but is it possible to bring my GPA up? I need around a 3 for when I transfer but that wont be for like 2 more years or so.
Maybe see if your college has tutoring available.
You have plenty of time to fix your gpa up, make sure you don’t bite off more than you can chew with your schedule, stay in contact with your professors, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. They tend to like those students who ask questions because it shows you’re engaged in the material and you’re trying. Most professors want you to get the highest grade possible, so keep a dialogue going. I’ve met professors who were willing to give me a lot of chances to make up my work, and I’ve only met one professor who was the type to “weed out” students rather than help them. If I did it over again, I’d drop that guy’s class the first day, professors should always be there to help.
I think that you have a lot of time to fix your GPA. You should talk to your professor not only so they could get to know you, but also so that they can help you out. Because you’re going to them for help, they’ll remember you and it shows that you care about your grade enough to discuss it with them. I suggest you just reevaluate on why you aren’t doing so well, whether that be due to you just not understanding a subject, extracurriculars, etc. Know what mistakes you made so that for the future, you’ll know what to do to prevent them from happening again. Good luck!
