Hi guys, as RD,I want to know if I can get the Maximus scholarship. SAT SCORE 800 Math, 640CR, 600 WR. GPA 3.65.
Well…you’ve probably seen the stats you need to have on the OSU website’s merit scholarship page. I took the ACT, so I’m not familiar with what the SAT scoring translates into. How about your class rank? The scholarships are based on both your test scores and your rank, not necessarily your gpa (although that obviously affects your rank). What type of high school do you attend? I posted a very similar question here a few months ago, and based on the responses I got, they’re only willing to let people who don’t make the top 4% cut slide if they attend a top-ranked school, and even then I doubt that happens often.
Point being, assuming you applied before November 1st, you’re most likely going to get what they advertise. If you have a 32+ ACT and are within the top 4% of your class, you’ll probably get the Maximus. Anything less any you’re most likely going to have to settle with the Provost, Trustee’s, etc.
I got my letter two days ago, and I ended up getting the scholarship I met the qualifications for. My test score was far, far better than my class rank, but that didn’t make a difference this time.
Hope this helps…not exactly what we all want to hear, but you never know. I wish you luck
