Maximus Scholarship Chances?

I’ll be applying to OSU in the fall and was wondering what my chances were at getting the Maximus Scholarship because it may affect where else I end up applying to. I rank just outside the top 3% of my class (23/740 ~3.2%) and got a 1590 on SAT CR+M. Are these the only factors that the scholarship is given out for?

I’m in the same boat as you with high enough SAT but just outside the top 3%. Unfortunately the Maximus factors are basically restrictions so since you fall outside the top 3% you won’t get it unless you happen to move up in rank before the scholarships are given out but you do qualify for the Provost scholarship and thats only $500 less per year so I would still recommend applying for sure.

The top 3% wasn’t a strict requirement a few years ago when I was an incoming freshman. I went to a competitive public high school, and was around the top 5-6% of my class, but I was still offered the Maximus Scholarship before I went on to get a better scholarship through an essay competition OSU used to host.

I just wanted to say, I was just outside the top 10% of my class (super small, no classes are weighted so Valedictorians can take remedial classes, it’s ridiculous) and had a 32 on my ACT and got the Maximus Scholarship.

I went to one of the top public schools in the country that didn’t rank but I’m pretty sure I wasn’t in the top 3%. I was originally offered the maximus scholarship and was later offered the eminence scholarship (in early April). My sat definitely wasn’t quite has high as yours and I came out with a full ride for out of state. So you never know!

I went to high school out of state and I had a 34, 4.4 GPA, and four 5’s (when I applied). I won the maximus scholarship even though I wasn’t in the top 10% of my class (I was about 12-13%).
