I currently have an 1890 (630CR - 670M - 590W with a 10 essay)

My writing score was atrocious, it is around 40-50 lower than all of the practice tests I took. I only did self prep before the January SAT and improved from a 1710-1890. I want to get into the 2050-2100 for my 3rd SAT and will be doing formal SAT prep between now and June, when I plan on taking my 3rd SAT. Is it possible, between now and June, to improve my SAT from an 1890 to a 2050-2100?

If you study hard, maybe. Good luck

I started with an 1870 and after 4 tests am sitting on a 2100 even. Set a goal for yourself and practice until you achieve it!

Right now the lowball score was writing, specifically the grammar. That’s the easiest section to improve on, so yes, it’s possible. Get your hands on one of those workbooks that explains the grammar rules that they test–there are about twenty of them. Given that your CR is relatively strong and that your essay grade was good, I’m guessing you can get it up at least 80 points, if not more.

It is possible, in my opinion. I read the resources at this link (A closer look at "being" - The Critical Reader) a few weeks before taking the SAT. I went from getting a writing score in the low 600 range to only missing one question on the actual test. With critical reading, I suggest getting comfortable with a wider range of vocabulary, and being able to read quickly and efficiently. Don’t read into the question; everything is there that you need. Math just takes practice.
