I'm studying for the ACT and am taking a test on Sept 11th, and have done very little studying (there were lots of time problems this summer, etc.). I scored a 22 composite on a princeton review test with little studying. So I assume my sept 11th score will be around a 22.

Then, I'm taking the ACT again on October 23rd. So that will give me much more time to study for the second one. Do you think I can go up from a 22 to a 27 or even a 30 in the 40 days i have to study for the second ACT?

I'm going to school also, so I assume I will be able to get 2-3 hrs of studying in a day if I generally just study.

=====
Second question:

My best SAT scores (from 2 tests) were 520 reading, 520 math, 620 writing, a total of 1660.

I'm pretty sure this 1660 is better than my 22 composite, but this was my first time taking an ACT test, and is only data from one test, so i feel ill do better on the ACT, and decided to study only for that. Good idea?

The biggest jump in an ACT composite score that I have seen is a 5.

And while practice tests/guides are great (and in your case, possibly the only) ways to study, they aren’t always accurate, so you may score better.

Anything above a 28 is a really solid score. =)

@ Twins127 - If I did nothing but study (yes, not very fun) I would get up for school at 6:00. Get home around 2:45. Do my homework, which I assume will be 2-3 hours, so I’d finish homework at 5:45 in time for dinner. Eat dinner from 6-6:30 or so. Then study from 6:30 to 8:30 or 9:30… then sleep.

This is just practice tests but I moved from a 23 composite to 31 on practice tests. I did a practice test a week or 2 and moved up a point or 2 every week.

You can do this easily. Don’t just do practice tests. I’d advise you to buy Cracking the ACT and go through that whole book before you even take the september test. My first practice ACT I got a 25… I did the cracking the act book that week and got a 30 on my first real ACT. Toook the ACT again after 6 practice tests got a 31 (26 science F**ked me). Am taking the September test and am really hoping for a 33 even though a 32 is more likelly.

In reference to the aforementioned conversation chart, can’t you just use the product of the means = the product of the extremes? I always cross-multiply to convert my ACT score to SAT.
