Hello!

I have a class TuTh from 12:30 to 1:45 in McLeod Hall (in the Medical School Buildings) and another from 2:00 to 3:15 in the Chemistry Building.

Can I make this walk in 15 mins?

if you walk really really fast; go through gibson/nau

you have got to be kidding, switch that right away. it is not worth it!!

How far are Maury hall and New Cambel? Maury hall and Chemistry Building? Approximately how many minutes would it take to walk from these buildings?( from maury to new cambel, from maury to chem) Also is it possible to take 17 credit( unit) at the first semester? thanks

Maury and New Cabell will take 1-2 minutes. Defintiely doable. Maury and Chemistry building…also very doable. 4-6 minutes, maybe? I walk fast in general though haha.

This link might help those of you wondering where buildings are located:

Maybe bring a bike?

You could bike that in 15 mins, but on a warm day (the two months), you’d be drenched in sweat by the time you got to Chem. Its an indirect and somewhat hilly ride. Try to make the walk when you go to orientation if you haven’t already.

Check it out on googlemaps. Or UVa’s maps…

McLeod to the Chem building is really pushing it. I could barely make it from Gilmer to Nau in 15 minutes last semester. I would advise changing it. Who knows how long it would take you if there was bad weather.

As a first year, they don’t let you sign up for more than 16 credits at orientation. If you want to take more, you can, but you have to get a dean’s permission.

Last semester I had to get from the Claude Moore building to Gilmer hall in 10 minutes. I was able to make it walking very briskly, but it was tiring. There is a bus stop in the medical complex that I took, and the ride (Free Trolley) was about 5-7 minutes, so it may be worth looking at the bus schedule to figure out if thats a viable solution for you. Make sure you tell your Chem Building professor at the end of your first class the distance you have to come and whether or not you rely on the bus to make sure it’s ok with him/her if you come in a few minutes late due to bus delays or the like.
