Can I omit a personal enrichment class for my mba application?

I am applying for mba, and just found out that I received an F on a personal enrichment class(textile & sewing class) I took at a community college. I took the class 6 years after graduating from college for leisure, and I dropped the class online after the first class due to some personal issue. I am so surprised to find out that the system did not drop the class and hence an F shows up on the transcript. I only took this one class at this community college. Is it ok to omit this irrelevant transcript on my mba application?

You need to contact that CC and find out if you can get the grade converted to withdrawal. Do you have any documentation about dropping the class? For example, do you have any record of a refund?

But yes, you do have to report it. You have to send every single college transcript. Period.

Chances are that the MBA program won’t care about one bad unrelated grade.

I’m not sure about that, you only need to report academic classes, maybe contact a b-school admissions officer to find out.

@theloniusmonk 's advice to contact the B-School admissions offices is a good one. But do get anything they say in writing, and do what you can to verify that that policy is approved for that program by the university itself as well. The standard rule is that every single blessed academic transcript from every college-level institution attended, no matter how long ago, no matter where in the universe, is required. Some institutions do set other policies, but many don’t. This rule isn’t about you, it is mostly about the colleges and universities all “playing nice” with each other.

Was this sewing class a credit-bearing class at that CC, or was it in the continuing ed. division? Find that out too. Continuing ed. credits normally aren’t reported.
