if i started a book club that meets once a month outside of school, can i put that under the "activities" section of the common app?

I don’t see why not. Shows leadership, always a plus.

How long ago did you start it?

yes…

lol sorry i’m reading my question over and realizing it’s stupid. i started about 3 months ago. i just feel weird putting it since it’s something outside of school and run by my friend and i.

I honestly don’t think 3 meetings is enough to warrant putting it on. With the limited amount of space on the commonapp, you have better things to put on. Plus the commonapp has a ■■■■■■■■ character limit and you would not be able to describe this on there.

I would respectfully dissent from feuxfollet’s opinion, unless you do have something else to put instead. It would show that you’re not slacking off senior year, and that you take the initiative to do something that’s not within school at all. If the character limit prevents you from explaining fully, you could always throw it into the “Additional Information” section.
