Hey guys!
I just wanted to know if I could request my teacher for a AP Summer Assignment Extension and if she would be up for it. I am new to the school I am moving to, and have moved internationally about a week and a few days before school was about to start. I only got to choose my classes in person, and received my summer assignments only a week before school started. I am taking 6 AP’s with 3 summer assignments to do. I have 2 days left and I know I won’t be able to finish atleast one of them. There might be a test on the first day. Do you think it is reasonable to give me an extension considering everyone else had the entire summer to do it?
If I were your teacher I would say no. But all you can do is ask. Did you have the assignment all summer? If so, poor planning on your part.
To be fair to the OP, s/he stated that s/he just moved schools and therefore just received the assignment. But as mentioned above, all you can do is ask. Nobody here knows the answer.
It’s just going to depend on the teacher and school. At my kids’ school, I’d be very surprised if a teacher was so hard nosed as to tell you no with what you described. Our teachers are pretty fair, and the circumstances you describe do sound like it would have been difficult to complete the assignments in time through no fault of your own. That said, make sure to complete as much as you can so the teachers can see the effort you put into it, and for just in case there isn’t much of an extension.
I would probably ask your school guidance to back you up on this, or even have them ask in your stead. It looks far better if they do it. Also, as mom2twogirls said, try and do as much as you can to show you aren’t slacking. Depending on which APs you’re taking, I might be able to help.

Thank you for your replies, I asked my teacher and she gave me a few extra days!
Thanks for the update. Good luck.
Mission accomplished!
