<p>I agree. Are you supposed to talk mainly about yourself or are you supposed to basically "recite" some facts about Brown and tell why those appeal to you? I know usually, it's advisable to use an anecdote and whatnot, but I'm finding it kind of difficult to do that with this essay.</p>
<p>I would also like to hear what other people put. I still have to write this one, and I have less than a week. Which is actually a lot of time, considering I don't have school.</p>

<p>Well... why do you want to go there? Talk about what you like to do in school and relate that to what you want to pursue at Brown and why it is a good match for you.</p>

<p>How long is this essay supposed to be? I actually thought it was supposed to be a paragraph due to the space they provide. Is it supposed to be a full blown 5 para essay? Would appreciate it if any ED applicant helped with this.</p>
<p>there is no true format you MUST have it in...be you. if you do 4 paras then great and if you do 2 fabulous too</p>

<p>I am personally going to write three paragraphs (Academics, extracurriculars and social life/"fit type" reasons).</p>
<p>Keep inmind you are only allowed 1500 characters</p>
<p>iwantcolly, the why brown essays is not 5 paragraphs. i think mine was 2. i broke it up into academics/extracurric&conclusion. you kinda just wanna jump right into it. the best thing to do is envision yourself there. if you can do that, so can the adcom reading your app. PM if you want mine.</p>
