Can i send act scores after application?

I want to apply early action out of state to Georgia tech, unc chapel hill. The deadlines are oct 15. If i takr the oct 22 act can i send scores in after application deadline? And if yes should i do the free send or can i wait and do score selection?(rather do this but worried about time) and is it true that colleges dont care how many times i take it?( this will be my seventh but i feel confident improving my 29 comp 30.25 super)(i need one more pt for 31 super, will a seventh hurt me if the schools dont require all scores? Thanks

Yes you can take the oct 22 test for early action. Be sure to have it as one of your four free schools so it goes as soon as possible. I don’t think a seventh will hurt. Superscoring schools have someone or a computer automatically put in your superscore. The people looking at your application will not see your seven scorers if you chose to send them all in.

Ok thank you, so i should choose the free send instead of waiting to do score choice? If this score is lower and doesnt raise my super will it look bad at all?

@bashkuradu I’m going to offer you some friendly advice - for a question as important as this, check the websites of the schools in question, don’t rely on the advice of random strangers in the internet. As it turns out, the advice you received was correct and you also could have found it in a minute or two with a google search.

As for the ACT, how many of those six attempts are involved to arrive at your 30C superscore? Two? Three? You know that you will have to pay a separate fee for the scores from each testing date? You don’t have to send all seven, though, nor should you.

Have you been doing something new to prepare for this last attempt? I ask because usually after 3 tries, diminishing returns set in. You might squeeze out that extra point and that would put you in the middle range for both schools. Is your GPA also competitive? The admissions bar for OOS applicants is set higher than for in-state. Be sure you also have an in-state option among the schools where you apply.

Best of luck to you!

Thank you and my weighted gpa is 4.33. I will send 2 scores in as of now. If i choose to take the seventh one, i guess it will br my third because people are telling me to send in free so i cant score choose. Any other suggestioms? Thanks

Score choice on the ACT just means you don’t have to send in all the tests you’ve taken. You cannot send like just the english portion of a test. Send in whatever makes up your 30.25 superscore and put your October test as one of the free test to ACT.

Ok thank you, so just to confirm if i send it free it should get there in time? If its my lowest composite it wont affect me? And is it worth applying early action to my reach schools?( prob wont get much scholarship but admission wise)

No it will not hurt you Georgia Tech. I can only answer the early action on Georgia Tech. Their merit based scholarships are only given to students who have submitted their apps by October 15 (early action), so unless you don’t want a shot at scholarships, apply by their early action date.

Thank you for replying, just wpndering if you meant to say regular action on last sentence. ANd georgia tech is my first school, do you think i should retake the act with a 29 comp 30 super? I am asian out of state male and 4.33 act in all the honor clubs/societies. Also for resume should i put that ive olayed basketball and piano since age 6 or just say i did it all years of hs or both?

I would say the grade so like 1st-12th unless they specifically ask for 9th-12th ECs. Follow the directions of the application. Merit scholarships are only given to those applying by for their early action deadline. Yes retake the ACT. The average superscore is a 32. The 4.33 is great. Is that on a 5.0 weighted scale?

Yes it is on the 5.0 scale

Also if you dont mind me asking, how do you know so much about ga tech( not being rude) are you a current student?

I’m applying this year but I’ve gotten tons of tips from my best friends sister (graduated last year on presidential scholarship). Schools normally unweight your GPA so what’s yours? The ACT I know by just looking at the freshman profile. (Google Georgia Tech Freshman Profile). The average 50% ranges from 30-34 which puts you at the low end. Also being female or African American or Hispanic will help. Being Asian will hurt admissions.
