So I really messed up my junior year of high school

These are my first semester grades:
US History-A
AP Rhetoric- B
Trig/Math Analysis-C-
AP Environmental Science-C
Chinese 3 Honors-B

and my 2nd semester hasnt ended but will end in like 4 weeks or less. Here are my grades now:

US History-B-
AP Rhetoric-C
Trig/Math Analysis-D
AP Environmental Science C
Chinese 3 Honors-D

I don't know what happened to me 2nd semester. My GPA right now is only a stinking 2.1 and I am freaking out and depressed that I might end up in a community college. Not that I have anything against it, but I just want to jump right into a 4 year college.

What are my chances of getting accepted? Any colleges in California?
Please help me and give me any advices, any thing is much appreciated.
Im sorry if this post is not making sense, but im on the verge of having a nervous breakdown.

Honestly, it probably best for you in all aspects to go to community college first. WAIT LET ME EXPLAIN.

1) It’s cheaper. Duh.

2) You’re not ready, I’m sorry. It would be much better for you to stay at home and focus on your studies- take one or two years to get prepared for the work of a four year college. Bring your GPA up, and then you’ll be able to get into a better school as a transfer later instead of going to a crappy school next year.

hmm… what were your grades before junior year?

oh okay I see… But I heard that now its pretty hard to go from a CC to a UC, which is why im really worried. Ugh, my parents aren’t gonna like that I go to a community college.

Freshman year I had Straight A’s
Sophmore year I had straight B’s

Depending on your SAT or ACT score, you may be able to get into a non-impacted major at a non-impacted CSU. Note that UCs and CSUs count only grades after 9th grade, so your straight A grades in 9th grade won’t be factored into your GPA for UC and CSU purposes.

But if you want to “upgrade” your choice of college and major, going to community college and doing well there is likely the best way to do it.

I’d recommend going to a CC. Honestly, CC aint bad. I was totally dreading it too when I first started, but it actually went really well. In fact, I went from barely graduating high school to being accepted at UCSD, UCSB, UCI, the University of Maryland, and Cal Poly SLO for aerospace engineering because I went to a CC. It’s possible, you just have to put the work in.

There are a number of schools that still might accept you with decent SATs. For California, you are probably looking at a CC. But Arizona State and University of Kansas are two schools that might accept you anyway.
