Can I still get into Columbia or NYU?

This is my first semester for my freshman year. Not doing so well... these are my grades. http://i.im gur.c om/kKA7 Yjm.png

This is the first marking period and I have 3 more marking periods till freshman year ends, 3 more years of high school to go. I'm currently going to a specialized HS if that changes anything...

If I do well beginning from the next marking period, would I still be able to get into Columbia or at least NYU?

that link doesnt show ur grades

you gotta put it together

No. You NEED an unweighted 3.9 to stay competitive. NYU less so than Columbia. You’re a freshman and it doesn’t look so good at this point with your grades. I’d suggest you invest yourself into extra curriculars to make up for your GPA weakness. SAT/ACT scores should be at least 2k for NYU and 2.2k for Columbia.

Cannot see it but I would assume that college admissions want to see improvement, so if you improve your grades and stay really competitive you should be at reach (just because no one is really a match for these schools).

kentrian is very negative but he is pretty accurate.
You still are a freshman so do not fret yet, just work hard and you will do fine.

extra curricular… you mean like clubs and stuff?

Are you international?

3.9 unweighted? it says 3.0 here though… [What is the minimum GPA required for admission? | General Studies](http://gs.columbia.edu/minimum-gpa-required-admission)
