Can I still get into UCSD (Marine Bio Major)

I’ve planned on transferring to Scripps for Marine Biology from Mesa, and my GPA was decent until I bombed my summer class (Got a C in a 5 unit course). My GPA is currently 3.1 and I’m afraid that this semester I might not improve my GPA. I’m taking Calc, Bio and Chem (W/labs). Chem I’m not worried about (Have an A in lecture and lab) but at this point in the semester I might get C’s in Bio and Calc. This situation occurring would bring me down to a 2.96. Given this situation (the worst case scenario) while also considering that Marine Bio isn’t impacted ( my second choice Earth Science at Scripps also is not impacted) does anyone feel that I still have a chance of transferring next fall? I’m wrapping up my applications now and working really hard to better my odds but I like to be prepared for the worst possible outcomes! Thanks everyone and good luck with the rest of the school year

This link shows for 2018 admits, the UC Transfer GPA admit range for Marine Biology was 3.19-3.62.

If you drop below a 3.0, your chances do not seem too good.

Thanks for the quick response. I guess someone getting in below a 3.0 is pretty unheard of anyways

Try to do as best as you can this semester! If you can get your GPA to right around a 3.3, you have a much better chance of getting in. Best of Luck!

So last semester I was able to maintain my 3.1 GPA and applied to UCSD, UCSC, UCLA and UCB for Marine Biology. I have a lot of extra curriculars (president of a club, internship, work experience) and strong insight questions! Does anyone feel that I have a decent chance?
