Im in my first semester....I'm kind of worried because I only took like 13 units this semester (4 graded classes) and I didn't do to well in Chem and my GPA will suck because of that. I'm gonna take more units next semester, get my GPA up but my question is...what kind of GPA is adequate for UCI/UCSD/UCLA/UCB as a Bio major? I probably don't have a very good GPA right now but it will definitely go up next semester and on since I'm prepared now.

I would just get as high of a gpa as possible and go from there. I wouldn't aim for any range of gpa. Just do your best. I started off bad but got my gpa up to 3.4 and got into UCI and UCD with tag so far in bio. Also try to do as well as possible in the major pre-reqs.

Hey, I'm in the same position as well except I might dip into 2.5 level.

my gpa will probably be like 3.0 at the end of this semester, but its only based on 4 grades so it's like one bad grade completely kills it. hoping to take like 6 classes next semester to get it up.
