I'm considering medical school and want to do Physics 6A, 6B, 6C instead of 1A, 1B, 1C, 4AL, 4BL because it requires less math and, well, less classes than the 1 series.

But one of the requisites for Physics 6A is Math 3A and I got a 5 on the AP Calculus AB exam giving me credit for Math 31A.

Do I have to take Math 3A to take the Physics 6 series? If I take Math 3A I won't get credit for it since I already have credit in the 30 sequence.

Or can I take the Physics 6 series without Math 3A?

I'm really confused because the UCLA Department of Mathematics website does say I can take Math 3B and 3C (requisites for Physics 6 series) since I got a 5 on the AP Calc AB test.

You don’t need to take 3A, you just need the credit for it to take Physics 6A. You would take 3B and 3C and take Physics. I think 3C is a co-requisite so you need to at least be enrolled in it during Physics if you haven’t already taken it.
