If i received a 5 on AP Calculus AB, am i able to take Math 3A or do they make me take Math 3B, since I already received the credits. I'm just curious because despite the 5, I don't think my high school prepared me well enough in Calculus. Thanks!

I’d also really like to know the answer to this question! I was just talking with a current UCLA student, and she said that you’re forced into the next level of math (so with a 5 on BC, that would actually be 3C), but that seems rather harsh. Do any students have further knowledge about this?

This is true but you don’t want to actually take 3B, as it will be harder than the BC material.

@lolfail: so in my case, ill be placed in 3B?

You’ll be placed in 3B. But if you got a 5 in AB that should be completely fine skipping classes like 3A isn’t making your life that much harder

Thank you for clarifying it. Does anyone know about Gao who’s teaching 3B this fall?
