Can I take AP classes senior year?

And still have a positive affect on colleges?

Fresh and soph year i didnt try so i was in no ap classes, this year im in only 2 honor classes (precalc and chem) and am easily getting a 3.9 GPA u/w. I plan on taking 4 ap classes twlefth grade hoping the colleges understand what was going on with me soph and fresh year. I dont even know how colleges will see twlefth grade if thats when im signing up -.-

If i came to realization a couple years ago id be in tons of ap classes with a 4.0 gpa u/w, thats what i want colleges to understand...

Yes of course you can. They may not see your final grades in the courses, but they will get your mid-year report. In addition, it will show that you continue to challenge yourself.

Yes. Colleges will see your senior year–first semester in the admissions process, and they’ll keep an eye on the second to make sure you don’t trip up late in the game. Your scores on the senior year AP’s won’t affect the admissions process the way junior year scores might (though that’s still not very much), but it may give you some credit. But colleges will definitely see senior year.

Also, if you’re taking only two honors classes and getting a 3.9 UW, how do you know you’d be getting a 4.0 UW with 4 AP’s?

My son is taking 5 APs his senior year. Depends on how much you want to enjoy your senior year. He stays up late every night. I personally don’t think its smart. I would thinkg 2-3 would be more manageable. But he has a goal of finishing with 10 APs and all 5s’ He’s halfway there already.

Aaah thats great to hear, thank you guys so much! And good luck for you son santookie!

Well I’m a very adjustable and quick learner type of guy, and I mean VERY quick. I just need someone to start me off, and I just realized the importance of everything now (shame on me) and I’m keeping a 3+9 gpa with utter ease (STUPID S.S TEACHER). By the time I’m in AP’s I would of mastered my learning and memorization skills by then. Its only the first quarter with a 3.9 gpa after all, still got 3 left.

And i wanted to enjoy senior year but now that i think of it i have no chance… oh well lol

Typig from phone just saying so theres lots if errors

Is there any point in self-studying APs during senior year? Is there any way to put that on the application?

For self-study, no. I don’t thing there is a way to put that on the application. For certain ones, there is a section where they allow to put "Info You Think We Should Know, so maybe there?

Yeah absolutely! Colleges will see your senior year schedule and mid-year transcripts, and they’ll want to see that you’re challenging yourself. Taking a rigorous schedule senior year instead of slacking off like so many students do (the “whatever this is pointless now” attitude takes over many people!) will show colleges that you are challenging yourself, interested in school, and a more mature student than some of your less intellectually engaged peers. Not to mention that you might get credit for these classes depending on where you go!

You can report self-study either on the “additional info” section or the “test scores” section if you have room (they let you add future tests after you’ve put in your previous ones)

Good luck!!

Definitely. Besides the fact that they see mid-year grades and will definitely like to see growth as a student, you can AP credit and get ahead in college. So there’s two potential benefits there.
