Can I transfer from community college with 3.3 GPA?

I major in computer science and hope to transfer to VCU engineering school. I know my GPA is low but its above the requirement do you think I have an chance at all? Do you think I can transfer to any University at all?

Thank You everyone

Sure.

Depends on the school, though.

Actually, I know people who transferred to Georgia Tech with a 3.1 and a 2.8 respectively, as part of transfer agreement. And there are plenty of ABET accredited programs at schools that just don’t have standards that are all that high. 3.3 is not really bad.

Yes. I would look at the average GPA of admitted freshman, and then you should know that you have a bit of a gap to work with because the GPA for transfers is less competitive as there aren’t as many applicants as incoming freshman and their GPA comes from College level work.

I know a 2.9 that got accepted as mechanical engineering. not a big name school but still. If you’re under 35 credits …you can raise still raise your GPA a hefty amount. 0.3-0.4 higher.

Sure you can. Just apply broadly to a mix of programs that you wouldn’t mind going to.
