Hey everyone
I’m new to this and I need to help.
I was thinking of attending Berkeley college in New York. I was just wondering, if I attended and maintained a good gpa, will I be able to transfer to a CUNY college? Like Hunter or Brooklyn college? Will they accept me coming from a non CUNY Institute? Please and thank you for your help!
Berkeley College is a FOR-PROFIT institution. It is not clear what their level of accreditation is, so it is important to make sure the credits earned at Berkeley College is transferable to CUNY. Why not attend one of the CUNY Community Colleges and transfer to one of the CUNY 4-year Colleges? The cost would be a fraction of Berkeley College tuition and your college credits are transferable.
Thank you!
Yeah that’s what’s bugging me.
Will a CUNY community college accept me?
I graduated high school in 2012 and attended a CUNY college for a year then dropped out because I wasn’t in the right place in my life. I had too much going on. Now that I’m settled and I have time, I want to attend college. But I’m afraid no one will accept me. I left my previous college with a low gpa.
Instead of assuming you will not be accepted, why not make an appoint with the admission personnel at one of the CUNY community colleges and investigate your options. Many students have gone this route successfully, even after performing poorly at a 4-year institution. They will tell you exactly what you need to do to get back into the CUNY system.
What was your GPA? I wouldn’t waste my time at Berkeley it’s overpriced and most likely the credits won’t transfer.
It was like a 1.20
It was so bad. Yeah I know. It’s like 7,000 a semester. And everyone’s telling me that employers won’t take me seriously. Thank you @Jamrock411 and @sensation723 for taking the time to respond. It really really means a lot.
