Can i transfer to ucla after my first year at uci?

Well? But seriously,,,can I?

thank y'all!

if you are able to complete 90 units by the spring before your transfer either by having ap credit or community college units and complete prereqs for your major then its possible and you should also look into having uc reciprocity which is the uc to uc version of the igetc for community college to uc

if you plan to do this also make sure your prereqs for your major transfer by looking at college catalogs online if the course subjects are similar

“uc reciprocity which is the uc to uc version of the igetc for community college to uc”

Could you please elaborate more on this? Do I get priority consideration or what? Maybe a link?

Is 90 units/ transferring as a sophomore unheard of?

“UCLA accepts transfers at the Junior level”-taken directly from their website, so is this not true?

Thank a lot I really appreciate this,
Josh

Bump…anyone?

depends on how much AP/College credit you are going in with…

You can be able to transfer as a lower division transfer. Usually only a few are able to do this. When I say few I mean 1-5.

1.UC reciprocity means if you finish the GE’s at irvine you’re finished with the GE’s at UCLA.

If you want to transfer in your sophmore year as a junior transfer then you’ll need to have 90 quarter units done by the end of your spring quarter as a freshman. This is pretty much impossible unless you have alot of a TON of AP/community college units from high school.

According to statfinder, UCLA had 740 lower division transfer apply and only 27 were accepted. 20 of these admits had community college priority.

It’s best to wait your sophomore year to apply for junior standing or if you want a greater chance at transferring, go to a California Community College for transfer admission priority.
